LONDON, March 13 (Reuters) – French and Italian police are to collaborate to make lamps with cleaner glass that will make it easier for the visually impaired to use them.
They hope the project, called ‘Glass Lampshade Fringing’, will help make the blind safer and more comfortable in the light of day.
It comes as French President Emmanuel Macron prepares to visit the island of Corsica next month to inaugurate a $1 billion tourist complex.
The aim is to make the islands a more accessible place to the visually-impaired.
In April, France is expected to announce the construction of a major tourism project, including a new light-rail system to be launched next year.
