The iconic green velvet lamp shaded frame of Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz was one of the first things you’ll see in a store of the iconic toy and now, a new design for this iconic accessory is getting a new spin.
It’s a new light-up green velvet-like lampshaded frame with a special effect of being a little green.
The new lampshades were designed by Vintage Glassworks and are made of lamp-light green plastic.
The lampshading was created by Troy Stapleton, who also worked on the iconic green-tinted light up display for the Great Barrier Reef in 2011.
The toymaker said it was the first time a lampshader would be made using recycled materials.
“We are delighted to be working with a local glassworks in the Australian Capital Territory and the design reflects the spirit of the original piece, so it will be a perfect addition to the store,” Ms Staplin said.
The company has already designed and manufactured lampshaders for several iconic brands including Coca-Cola, Apple, Lego, the Simpsons and The Walking Dead.
