Design studio Diorama Design has created a series of modern bamboo lampshades inspired by classic Victorian designs.
The studio describes the lamps as a ‘diorama with a lightshow of different scenes and moods’.
“We wanted to capture the mood and atmosphere of a Victorian house,” the studio said.
“This is not a typical wooden lampshaded lamp, it is an original bamboo lamp that looks like a wood and it is crafted from recycled bamboo.”
The bamboo lamp shaders are made of wood and are designed to be flexible and light.
The bamboo lamps are made from recycled wood from the same tree that the wood used in the lamps is sourced from.
“The bamboo wood is recycled from the surrounding forest,” the Dioramas site said.
“These bamboo lamps reflect the natural light with a unique and warm light.”
The designs were created in collaboration with Diorampark, which is a creative design studio based in Melbourne.
The designs are part of the Diaspora Design initiative, which aims to “give people who grew up in the Victorian countryside a sense of place and community”.
The Diasporas website says it is a project that “represents an authentic experience for Australian’s from the past to the present”.
